As part of our ongoing investment plans, 2018 is set to be a significant year as we strive to position our agricultural businesses to prosper in these changing and challenging times.
After several years of investing in our land base and additionally our horticultural business Quantil Limited, we feel the time is now right to modernise the seed processing and grain storage facilities.
The first project to be actioned is to install a new high capacity seed processing line (this project is part funded by the European Agriculture Fund for Rural Development). The facility, which will be commissioned this spring, will allow us to significantly increase the number of tons we are able to process while at the same time reducing our production costs keeping the business competitive.
Following on from this project a new 1500-ton purpose designed seed storage facility will be built at our Beech Grove site in Mawdsley to be operational for the 2018 harvest. The addition of grain drying and weighing facilities to the site will further contribute to delivering the efficiencies that the business requires in the coming years.
